They are building India’s first socially distributed full stack fintech platform for emerging middle-class families in 5000+ small cities. The financial needs of small-city India have been largely underserved since traditional players and fintechs are unable to properly serve this segment.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for Legal Intern position at WeRize. This role supports the Chief Manager – Legal (LAP) at Head Office in building and leading the legal function for the LAP business PAN India, focusing on follow up with external Legal Counsels for issuance of title document due diligence reports, assisting the credit team in identifying additional/ alternate documents required by external Legal Counsels, assisting the credit team in creation of charge on properties in line with findings of the external Legal Counsels, coordinating with external/Government Authorities for creation of charge, and maintaining MIS for various activities performed by the In-House Legal Department of WeRize, ensuring seamless support to business expansion and collection support while maintaining strong legal safeguards.

Eligibility

Desired Candidate Profile:

Qualification: Must be holding law degree (3 years or 5 years). LL.B. from a reputed university.

Experience: 0 to 2 years of working experience in Legal Departments of Banks/NBFCs/FinTechs into secured mortgage lending (preferably Loan Against Property segment).

Sound knowledge in property laws, Contract Act, Registration Act, Stamp Act, local laws/codes/regulations, and SARFAESI enforcement.

Possess various MS Office skills.

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and negotiate with partners.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with legal software, databases, technology tools and digital finance frameworks.
