About NFSU

National Forensic Sciences University, originally Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, was established by the Government of Gujarat in 2009 under the leadership of then Chief Minister Narendra Modi. At a juncture of spiking the number of crimes involving sophisticated technologies and much-evolved modus operandi, there was a need for scientists and technocrats. Its main goal is to create professionals in forensic sciences to address the rising number of technologically advanced crimes.

About the Conclave

The Pro Bono Club and Legal Assistance Cell of the School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, in collaboration with the Gujarat State Human Rights Commission, is organizing the 2nd National Pro Bono and Legal Aid Conclave with the primary aim of promoting pro bono initiatives and enhancing legal aid awareness among the participants. With the esteemed collaboration of LiveLaw as the Media Partner and Manupatra as the Knowledge Partner, this conclave provides an exceptional platform for students to expand their understanding of the legal -aid domain.

Themes

Bridging the Justice Gap: An inclusivist approach to Legal-Aid.

Citizen Empowerment: Health, Governance, and Technology.

Enhancing Access to Justice: Exploring Innovative Approaches to Pro Bono and Legal Aid in India.

Various competitions will be conducted under these themes. Details of which is provided in the brochure given below this post.

Eligibility & Team Composition

The Conclave is open to all bonafide students enrolled, on a regular basis, in a three-year or five-year law course or its equivalent conducted by any recognized College/ Institution/ University.

For the purposes of this Conclave, every team registering from the same institution/university/college shall comprise a minimum of 2 students and a maximum of 5 student participants. All registered participants need to be physically present during the conclave.

The faculty coordinator accompanying them can be one where more than one team is participating from the same university/institution/college.

The registration of the faculty coordinator is mandatory, but their presence at the venue during the conclave itself is not necessary; they can join online during inaugural and valedictory sessions.

A maximum of two teams from a single university are allowed to participate in the conclave.

With Accommodation Rs. 5000/- Per Team.
